Free Football Picks: Washington Redskins vs Dallas Cowboys NFL Picks

Dallas Cowboys vs Washington Redskins Free Football Picks: Monday Night Football betting action heads to Arlington this week for the home opener for the Dallas Cowboys against their hated rivals, the Washington Redskins.

Could the Skins really end up moving to 3-0 in this game? There’s a distinct possibility of that happening, and if that’s the case, playoff fever will be striking our nation’s capitol in a heartbeat. Washington hasn’t played the prettiest football in the world to start off the year, and wins against the Arizona Cardinals and New York Giants isn’t the most impressive slate ever either, but wins are wins in this league.

Free NFL Picks: Pittsburgh Steelers vs Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis Colts vs Pittsburgh Steelers Free NFL Picks: Fans looking for a showdown between Ben Roethlisberger and Peyton Manning will be extremely disappointed this Sunday night. This Sunday night’s primetime game on NBC will look a lot different without Manning under center for the Colts. It will be Kerry Collins and the Colts looking to get into the win column against the defending AFC Champions. Can the Colts stay in the game here or will this one turn ugly fast?

Free NFL Picks: College Football Picks Week 3 Review

College Football Week 3 Free NFL Picks Review: Betting on college football’s Top 25 didn’t get do anybody much good this past weekend, as many ranked teams had problems covering pointspreads. But taking the biggest of favorites turned a profit, as most of those tagged with the largest lines proved they worthy.

Teams ranked in the USA Today’s Top 25 went 17-4 straight-up vs. unranked teams in Week 3 action, but only managed to go 9-12 against the pointspreads. That action included four ranked teams – Auburn, Michigan State, Arizona State and Ohio State – losing outright as underdogs on the road.

Free NFL Picks: Buccaneers vs Vikings NFL Picks

Vikings vs Buccaneers Free NFL Picks: Tampa Bay surprised the NFL by going 10-6 last year, but they fell just short of a playoff berth. The Bucs were beaten at home by the Lions in week one and they really can’t afford another loss this week.

Minnesota kept it close against San Diego last week, but their miserable passing game kept them from winning. Can the Vikings win this one at home or will the Bucs be road warriors as they were last season?

Free NFL Picks: New England Patriots vs Miami Dolphins Week 1 NFL Picks

Miami Dolphins vs New England Patriots Free NFL Picks: In the first game of a double dip on ESPN’s Monday Night Football, NFL bettors will get their chance to sink their teeth into the clash at Sun Life Stadium between the Miami Dolphins and the New England Patriots.

The Pats are the runaway favorites on the Super Bowl odds this year, as they are as low as +400 at some sportsbooks. They definitely do look to be locked and loaded after bringing in both DT Albert Haynesworth and WR Chad Ochocinco in the offseason. It hasn’t seemed to matter who is out there at wide receiver though, as QB Tom Brady has always made the best of every situation.

Friday 9 September 2011

The San Diego Chargers have one of the NFL’s top quarterbacks in Phillip Rivers. San Diego missed the playoffs last year, but they are still one of the favorites to reach the Super Bowl from the AFC this season. Can San Diego avoid the slow starts that have hurt them badly in recent years?

Tuesday 6 September 2011

NCAA Football Picks: Miami Hurricanes vs Maryland Terrapins Free NFL Picks

Maryland Terrapins vs Miami Hurricanes Football Picks: The Miami Hurricanes have had themselves one heck of an offseason. They hope to put all of that aside when they take to the field for the first time on Labor Day night against the Maryland Terrapins.

Regardless of what ends up coming from this whole situation with boosters giving improper benefits to players on the team, it is clear that Head Coach Al Golden has his work cut out for him here at “The U.” Miami has never been known as a squeaky clean program, and this is just the latest problem.

1: Green Bay Packers (0-0 SU, 0-0 ATS) – It’s hard to really see the Packers falling too far this year, knowing that they are returning the majority of their team. NCAA Football Picks: TCU Horned Frogs vs Baylor Bears

Baylor Bears vs TCU Horned Frogs NCAA Football Picks: The TCU Horned Frogs had a storybook season last year. TCU went 13-0 and finished second in the final AP college football standings. The team would have obviously liked to get a chance to play in the BCS Championship Game, but a hard fought win over Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl was huge for the program.

Dallas Cowboys Free NFL Picks: 2011 Dallas Cowboys NFL Picks

2011 Dallas Cowboys Free NFL Picks: Things did not go according to script for the Cowboys in 2010. In what was supposed to be a championship run that ended up with a victory in Super Bowl XLV in their home stadium, ended up as a total nightmare with a 1-6 start, a season-ending injury to quarterback Tony Romo, and a mid-season change at head coach.

Sunday 28 August 2011

Free NFL Picks: New Orleans Saints vs Oakland Raiders NFL Picks

Oakland Raiders vs New Orleans Saints Free NFL Picks: Normally, NFL preseason games are relatively local in nature, but on Sunday night, for NBC’s Sunday Night Football, the New Orleans Saints will take the lengthy road trip across the country to tango with the Oakland Raiders.

QB Drew Brees and the starting offense should see at least two quarters of action this week, if not more, as Head Coach Sean Payton tries to assess exactly what his team has to offer this year. However, injuries are definitely starting to mount up for this squad, something that proved to be a major problem in the regular season last year as well.

Thursday 25 August 2011

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Atlanta Falcons Free NFL Picks: The Atlanta Falcons roll into Heinz Field this Saturday night to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in a Week 3 preseason contest. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. (ET) and will be broadcast locally.

Atlanta lost to Miami 28-23 as a two-point home favorite in its first preseason game, but went on the road last Friday night and beat Jacksonville 15-13 as a three-point underdog. The total went over the 33-point line against the Dolphins, but stayed ‘under’ the 36.5-point line in Game 2.

Free NFL Picks: Cleveland Browns vs Philadelphia Eagles NFL Picks

Philadelphia Eagles vs Cleveland Browns Free NFL Picks: NFL betting action continues on Thursday night with a preseason clash between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Cleveland Browns from Lincoln Financial Field in the City of Brotherly Love.

The Browns have had some major problems defensively here in the preseason, and those problems really reared their ugly heads this past week against the Detroit Lions. The Lions don’t have the greatest offense in the world, particularly once the starters head off the field, but that didn’t stop them from scoring 30 points against Cleveland in the Dawg Pound.

Free Football Picks: Minnesota Vikings vs Seattle Seahawks NFL Picks

Seattle Seahawks vs Minnesota Vikings Free Football Picks: New faces will meet their old team on Saturday night at Qwest Field in NFL betting action, as we make our free football picks in the clash between the Minnesota Vikings and the Seattle Seahawks.

To say that the Vikings offense just couldn’t get anything going last week against the Tennessee Titans was a bit of an understatement. The offense accounted for just 248 total yards, and the offensive line had an absolutely abysmal game. The line gave up four sacks, and save for a 20 yard run by RB Lorenzo Booker, the running backs only averaged 2.81 yards per carry.

Free NFL Picks: Atlanta Falcons vs Jacksonville Jaguars NFL Picks

2011 Free NFL Picks News Pittsburgh Steelers Team Preview and Prediction

Pittsburgh Steelers Free NFL Picks: The Pittsburgh Steelers somewhat unexpectedly won the AFC championship last year for the third time in the last six seasons. But the last couple of times Pittsburgh has played as the defending champs things haven’t gone too well.

Last year most sports books sent the Steelers off at right around 5/2 to win the AFC North and 10/1 to win the AFC, with a regular-season wins over/under of 8.5. Remember, QB Ben Roethlisberger was suspended for the first four games of the season. The Steelers then managed to start 3-1 with Charlie Batch and Dennis Dixon behind center, and finished 9-3 with Big Ben.

Free NFL Picks News & Notes from the NFL Picks

Free NFL Picks News & Notes: Thursday night marks the official start of the NFL preseason with five games on the slate including a possible Super Bowl preview when Baltimore takes on the Eagles in Philadelphia. It remains to be seen how much more time the starters may see in this first round of games given all the preparation time that was lost this offseason due to the prolonged player lockout.

None the less,  this weekend will provide the first glance of all 32 teams in action which may provide at least some insight into how far along (or behind) each team is after the long layoff. You would have to expect to see a good deal of sloppy play during the first few weeks of the preseason, especially on offense where timing is such a crucial issue.

Carolina Panthers Free NFL Picks - 2011 NFL Picks Preview

2011 Carolina Panthers Free NFL Picks Preview: Carolina Panthers (2-14 SU, 4-12 ATS, 4th Place in NFC South)

There weren’t many games last year that the Carolina Panthers were tremendously effective, as they were blown out of the water more often than not, as demonstrated by their four covers on the campaign. With some new blood in the water though, things could step in the right direction on Tobacco Road this year.

New Orleans Saints Free NFL Picks - 2011 NFL Picks Preview

2011 New Orleans Saints Free NFL Picks Preview: New Orleans Saints (11-5 SU, 7-9 ATS, 2nd Place in NFC South)

2011 Free NFL Picks Preview – Jacksonville Jaguars NFL Picks

2011 Jacksonville Jaguars Free NFL Picks Preview: Jacksonville Jaguars (8-8 SU, 9-7 ATS, 2nd Place in AFC South)

Head Coach Jack Del Rio is on the ropes this year with the Jacksonville Jaguars, as this might be a season in which he has to make the playoffs with a lot of question marks surrounding his team.

The Jags have a real problem at the quarterback position that has really existed since the days of QB Mark Brunell. They drafted QB Blaine Gabbert with their first round draft choice this year, but they still have the incumbent, QB David Garrard floating around. Garrard really has never had a fantastic season for Jacksonville, and it really only seems to be a matter of time until Gabbert takes over.

2011 Free NFL Picks Preview – Indianapolis Colts NFL Picks

2011 Indianapolis Colts Free NFL Picks Preview: Indianapolis Colts (10-6 SU, 8-7-1 ATS, 1st Place in AFC South)

The Colts are definitely going to have their work cut out for them if they want to win a third straight division title and to make the playoffs for a 10th straight season. There is a lot of stern competition in this division this season, and the rest of the AFC has seemed to take a heck of a lot of steps in the right direction revolving around stopping the Colts and the New England Patriots.

However, the Esks are out of the block like a house of fire, putting up the best holistic numbers of any team in the league, including the mighty defending champion Montreal Alouettes.

NFL Picks: Saskatchewan Roughriders vs Montreal Alouettes CFL Picks

Montreal Alouettes  vs Montreal Alouettes NFL Picks: The Montreal Alouettes and Saskatchewan Roughriders have played two very level Grey Cups in the last two seasons. It looks like the two are miles apart this year though, and CFL bettors will have a tough time when these two hook up at Percival Molson Stadium on Sunday night.

To say that the Roughriders have had a rough start to the season is a bit of an understatement. They are one of the two winless teams in the CFL, and there really hasn’t been much to be proud of in any real facet of the game.

NFL Lockout and NFL Picks News: NY attorney general to investigate the lockout NFL

New York, the Attorney General has launched an antitrust investigation into the lock-out of the NFL, requesting information from the league and the players' association on the economic impact of the impasse of the work of professional football.

“While we are hopeful that the NFL and its players will reach an agreement to end the ongoing lockout in the near future, this office will take all appropriate steps to protect New Yorkers, many of whom rely on the significant economic activity generated by the NFL,” Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said Thursday.

NFL Lockout: NFL Players and Owners meet On Thursday

NFL Lockout and NFL Picks News: Staff and legal teams for the NFL owners and players met for about 11 hours Wednesday, is in the evening with large meetings threatening.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's, the NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith, owners, players and U.S. Judge Arthur Boylan will join the group on Thursday and the clock is ticking for a deal to save his job preseason - and the hundreds of millions of prescriptions that go with it.

Among those present at Wednesday's discussions were the NFL outside counsel Bob Batterman a, NFLPA outside counsel Jeffrey Kessler and NFLPA general counsel Richard Berthelsen. During the day, new faces have emerged. Four hours, the NFL vice president of law and labor policy birch Adolpho, drug czar in the league, and senior vice president of labor disputes and the policy of Dennis Curran arrived. Three hours later, lawyers for the executive council of the league entered the building in Manhattan.

According to sources, the tendency of small incremental steps needed to complete a deal. The tasks were to clarify and discuss the documents, and go in the language and details.

The idea is to make the approach roads to facilitate the process for owners and players, who will handle important issues. As a person in the room, said: "There's not much we can do."

Boylan, a key in the negotiations of the last six weeks, is scheduled to go on holiday on Saturday. But two sources said they did not make the next two days, more vital, citing pre-season sales as the main motivation to complete a deal faster than the blockade imposed by the league on March 12, remains in the summer.

Last week, closed portions of meetings in Minneapolis has made great progress on income distribution, a key issue in these negotiations and the focus shifts this week to problems smaller but nonetheless significant that flow into the most great.

Was estimated to take between 10 and 14 days to get a document signed contract, and the idea of ??the meetings this week is to reduce the time and milestones to move quickly to things according to the opening of training camps . The Chicago Bears and St. Louis Rams, who are scheduled to play Aug. 7 Hall of Fame Game to report to camp July 22.

The deadline is 15 July to save the schedule pre-season in its regular shape and avoid the potential loss of hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue. This loss would affect offer for players and owners could poison the negotiations to the point where the case should head back to court.

Two court decisions are pending - a U.S. Circuit Court Judge David Doty in the rights of the networks, otherwise the costs of the appeals court circuit 8 of the United States on the league's appeal court order to lift blockade.

Lawyers involved in negotiations to believe that the penalties in the case was completed, but none of Doty and 8 of the circuit judges, who previously prayed in the league and the players work out their differences among themselves, we want to give them. Failure of the negotiations, this thinking goes, could lead Boylan to notify the court that the negotiations have broken down and does not need to wait for decisions to disclose.

If it's really Boylan hammer, he used the effective use of the pages at the end of last week and prompted the developments mentioned above on the distribution of income, the central issue in this whole affair. Right now, a lot of "Fringe" claims - fell from the table and, opening the way for more productive conversations - are considered unacceptable by one or the other.

One problem that remains is a retired players 'benefits', the smallest things, split flow of income. Owners and players are not satisfied with the funding for such benefits last week, and a group of retired players - led by Carl Eller - left a lawsuit in Minneapolis to court Monday seeking to stop the ongoing negotiations and to keep players represent them to be active for the environment.
